Start every day with a smile and get it over with. ~W.C. Fields
Blogging today about my other new blog, "Smile She Said" www.smileshesaid.blogspot.com.
I have been mulling over yesterday's posting, as I really had to dig to find anything that brought a smile to my face. Today I am watching carefully for my smiles. Its a bit sad to think that nothing over the course of a whole day would make me smile, or that I have to think hard to remember anything that did. Surely I must smile at least 3 times a day, maybe I'm just not paying attention??!!??
I wonder if the blog will cause me to find ways to make myself smile, to fill my quota? Seems an odd thing to do, setting myself up to smile... However this is probably a better idea than focusing on things that make me unhappy (too easy to do), and anyway, creating situations that make me even slightly happy is better than not creating them.
I do believe that what we focus on increases, so this is the main reason I want to do blogs--to increase my focus on things that are positive and meaningful. Surely every day has some meaning attatched and we should find something positive about each day. I have spent many days only focusing on negative and its not something I'd recommend.
I hope that we smile, the better we will get at smiling and maybe we can affect people that need our smiles, besides bettering our own lives. I tried to smile at a few of the mothers at my son's pre-school this morningl, but they seemed not to notice. Maybe its an English thing? Ah well, maybe next week!
